One of the most exciting milestones for students who will participate in the Work and Travel program is the visa interviews, the application requirements, how they will be and how they should prepare. Visa interviews are face-to-face, with American visa officers at American consulates.
Is There a Certain Age Limit?
You should pay attention to the compatibility of your class and age. If there is too much year loss, this situation may pose a risk in terms of visa approval.
Is There a Grade Point Average Limit?
There is no officially announced average limit. The average required in previous years was 2.00 and above, but this year, it is expected that the average will be much higher according to your class. For example, we observed that a grade point average of 3.00 and above is expected from senior students.
At visa appointments, officers examine the student’s transcripts, so it is very important for the student to bring as high a grade point average as possible for the Fall semester, which is the last semester before the interview, in order to be positively evaluated. Apart from these situations, there are also exceptional visa approvals, but these situations depend on the extra conditions of the student or the conversation with the visa officer in person.
How Do I Prepare for the Interview?
As EDUMASTER, we make it easy for you to get through the visa process with our visa seminar, where we go over the questions with the student one-on-one before the visa interview and our coordinator explains the entire process inside the consulate building, ensuring that you are fully prepared for the process inside.
