We would like to share with you a good development that concerns everyone who has applied for or will apply for a visa, which has been published on the official website of the American Consulate in the past days.
Working with a limited capacity due to the effect of the pandemic, the American Consulate General in Istanbul has now started to provide full-time services as before the pandemic period, with the opening of the newly constructed Consulate building located in Ankara’s Yüzüncü Yıl region and with the increase in the number of employees.
We think that this good news will ease the appointments for F1, B1/B2 and J1 visa appointments, the clutter will disappear, and visa appointment bookings will be much more relaxed.
At the same time, the transportation of the new consulate building in the Yüzücü Yıl area is much more convenient and comfortable compared to the old consulate building in Ankara Kavaklıdere region. It is in a central location where you will not encounter any parking problem, and it is much more convenient to reach by public transport.
We were used to the fact that all visa appointments were given to the Consulate General of Istanbul during the pandemic period, and with this development, we now see that tourist visa appointments are also given to the newly opened consulate building in the Ankara Centenary region and work sharing is done. We foresee that job sharing will improve in the coming days and that other visa types can be obtained from Ankara again.
