We have left behind February and March for the visa interviews of the 2024 Summer Work and Travel program. As of the current situation, the consulate’s attitude and interview results are quite positive.
How did the February and March appointments go?
In Turkey, at the Istanbul consulate, interviews began in February and March appointments still continue. This year, the attitude during the interviews has been positive, with communication taking the forefront. Over the past two months, an atmosphere where students are listened to, and their responses are evaluated significantly. In terms of the questions asked, officers have tried to engage in conversation with the students, asking daily questions beyond the usual rehearsed ones, ensuring a comfortable interview experience for the students. Moreover, students’ academic achievements are being taken into account more during the interviews this y ear. Therefore, students’ academic successes can compensate for deficiencies such as age. While a positive atmosphere prevails, entering the interview well-prepared is the most effective method students can employ to increase their chances of visa approval.
What should be expected in the interviews? How should one prepare?
Firstly, considering that officers may ask everyday questions based on current interviews, it is critical for the student to conduct a confident and sincere interview. Additionally, preparing with their advisor through role-play practices and rehearsed questions, and entering the interview well-practiced, will prevent nervousness or stress during the actual interview and ensure a smooth experience. Lastly, before going to the interview, the student must be sure of the documents they need to bring; not going to the interview with missing, incorrect, or false documents will increase the chance of approval, and good preparation with your advisors will be the most important step towards a successful interview.
As we approach the last days of March and the coming months, we wish all students who will enter the interviews the best of luck and success from the Edumaster family.
