According to the new attitudes and behaviours of the Consulate, the participation requirements for the program have also been updated. When determining participation requirements, the question “What kind of student can get visa approval?” is asked, and registration is based on this profile. Most things that were accepted in the past are now reasons for rejection. Of course, none of these have any official explanation; they are all inferences from experience. Let’s talk about the new updates item by item.
Is there an age limit?
The information that “all students between the ages of 18-26 can participate in the program” is now valid no longer for Turkey. The probability of getting visa approval for students over the age of 23 is very low. This situation is directly related to the proportionality of your class and age.
Is class compatibility a requirement?
Yes, your class and age must be compatible. For example, if a student born in 2004 considers participating in the program for the summer of 2025, they will be 21 years old and meet the age requirement, but if they are just entering the preparatory class, this student has lost many years via preparing the exam again. This situation is very risky in terms of visa approval. Basically, the consulate questions whether the participant’s age and class are consistent to evaluate them as a student. If you have questions about your class-age compatibility, you can reach out to our consultants.
What should be my GPA?
There is no officially announced average grade limit. In previous years, the required average was 2.00 and above, but this year, it is expected that the average will be much higher again, relative to your class. We have seen that the probability of getting visa approval decreases as the average falls below 2.30. Therefore, to participate in the program, you must have a minimum average of 2.30. This situation varies according to your class; for example, a minimum average of 3.00 is expected from senior students. If you have questions about your grade average, you can reach out to our consultants.
What should be my English level?
An intermediate level (B1) of English is basically enough to participate in the program. There is no written exam during the process. However, it is expected that the student can speak and understand English at an intermediate level. In this regard, an English interview is conducted with students before registration to evaluate whether their English is sufficient to participate in the program. You can contact our consultants for a free English interview.
Apart from these situations, there are of course exceptional visa approvals, but these depend on the extra conditions of that student or the conversation with the visa officer they meet in person. As EDUMASTER, we facilitate the visa process in the easiest way with our pre-visa study, where we go over the questions with the student before the visa interview, and our visa seminar, where our coordinator explains the entire process inside the consulate building, ensuring you are fully prepared for the process inside.
