One of the final stages before going to America in the Work and Travel process is the visa interview. Every student planning to go to America under the Work and Travel program is required to attend a visa interview with the type J-1 and obtain visa approval. The first step for this is to schedule a visa appointment.
So, when do the appointments open?
Visa appointments, usually opened around February each year, are expected to follow the same schedule this year. However, the question on students’ minds is: “Will I schedule my visa appointment, or will my company, do it?” According to the recent announcement from the U.S. consulate, companies will schedule visa appointments for participants.
What is this “group appointment system” then?
The group appointment system is a system that allows authorized agents to schedule Work and Travel visa appointments. In this case, only companies can schedule visa appointments for participants. Edumaster, one of the few companies in Turkey that achieved a 100% appointment rate in the last year this system was used, 2022, will be with you again this year to repeat the same success. Appointments are gradually opened each month for the next month’s schedule.
When are the appointments?
Appointments may open around the end of January or beginning of February, and participants’ interviews typically take place in March, April, and May.
So, how does the Visa interview go?
The visa interview takes place face-to-face with an American visa officer. Students are briefed on preparing for this interview, along with visa seminars, and consultants convey the important points to ensure participants can obtain visa approval. This way, students conduct their visa interviews well-prepared.
