The most important of the requirements for participation in the Work and Travel program is your grade point average as well as your English level. Students who will participate in the program must have a minimum average of 2.00 on a 4-point system. So why? Grade point average, in the eyes of the consulate, is an indicator of whether the student who will attend the program will return to his country or not, in direct proportion to his success or failure. In other words, the more successful the student is in his studies, the higher the probability of returning to his country is thought. Consular officials evaluate students by looking at their transcripts from the school. Unfortunately, the chances of obtaining a visa are not the same for students with low grade point averages and high students. Therefore, it is very important for students who plan to participate in Work and Travel to focus on their lessons besides their English.
