You have now arrived in the USA! We will explain in detail the 3 stages that you absolutely must not forget and need to complete. Not completing these stages could even result in the termination of your program.
- Fill out the I-94 form
Upon landing in America, you need to fill out this form within 24 hours. You can fill out this form at airport kiosks or online. It is a simple form where you will need to enter information such as your name, surname, passport number, nationality, date of entry to the country, and the type of visa you have. After completing this form, it is necessary to keep a copy for your SSN application. You can refer to our article for a more detailed explanation of this form.
What you need to know about the I-94 form:
- SEVIS (Sponsor Check-in)
When you log into our UWT portal, you will see the message “Complete Arrival Check-in” in red. Clicking on this message will take you to a section where you need to fill in simple information. This check-in must be completed within the first 3 days; otherwise, your SEVIS and program may be canceled. Apart from this check-in, there is also a Monthly Check-in that you need to perform every month. Make sure not to miss it.
- SSN Application
The SSN (Social Security Number) is a necessary number for legal employment in the US. This number can also help you find additional job opportunities. If you have previously been to America and have an SSN, you do not need to apply again, but make sure not to forget your SSN card for your next Work and Travel adventure.
